> how do i advertise a position with Venture?

First, you will need to determine whether your position is appropriate for College Venture, Job Leads, or Summer Jobs. Then, you can fill in all of the required information in the on-line form and submit the position to Venture electronically.

> what happens after i submit a position description?

Venture staff review each job position that is submitted to make sure that it is in line with Venture's Mission and requirements. Once we have determined that your position matches our criteria, we will post it on our website and notify you that this has happened.

> i have a wonderful opportunity that i want to advertise, but it is not compensated in any way. can i still advertise with Venture?

Venture reviews non-compensated positions on a case-by-case basis. Approximately 90% of the positions that we list in the College Venture job bank are compensated. Venture also advertises "Job Leads" and other types of experiences for students and recent graduates. Our Job Leads section includes full-time and part-time paid positions, summer jobs, exceptional volunteer opportunities, fellowship opportunities, interesting for-credit programs, and any other experiences that would align with our mission. > who is the audience that receives access to Venture's job postings?

Approximately 18,000 undergraduates at selective liberal arts colleges and universities (Brown, College of the Holy Cross, Franklin & Marshall, Sarah Lawrence College, Vassar, and Wesleyan) will have access to Venture's job postings. This also means that positions advertised with Venture have exposure to almost 5000 graduating seniors in an extremely wide array of academic fields.

> how do i know whether my position is appropriate for College Venture, Job Leads, or Summer Jobs?

College Venture Leads
• are for students who are taking time off from college
• are short term (anywhere between 3 months to one year in duration).
• are at socially responsible organizations in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
• are usually compensated in some way (this can be a combination of stipend, housing, insurance, etc. 90% of our cv jobs are compensated... please keep in mind that as students, these program participants often have limited financial resources and many of them have student loans).
• do not require a college degree.
• are geared towards students who may not have extensive amounts of work experience, but are bright, enhusiastic, and have many transferrable skills.
• have someone at the hosting organization who will not only be the student's supervisor but also be a mentor who is interested in the student's learning.

Job Leads
• are geared towards young adults who are graduating or have recently graduated from a Venture college.
• are compensated.
• are at socially responsible organizations in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
• take into account that Venture students, while new to the workforce, have tremendous leadership experience and experience doing community work.

Summer Jobs
• take place during the summer.
• are at socially responsible organizations in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
• can be for college students or recent graduates.
• are usually compensated in some way.

Historically, Venture has worked to raise the visibility of non-profit job offerings. Today, Venture remains committed to promoting all opportunities and organizations that are committed to social responsibility. Therefore, we list positions in all sectors: business, government, or non-profit.

Venture provides your information to students and graduates at our member schools. The students and graduates reviewing your information attend(ed) some of today's finest liberal arts schools.
