For over 30 years, Venture has been committed to helping college students and recent graduates find meaningful work opportunities in the non-profit sector.

Today, Venture remains committed to helping students connect a liberal education, their ideals, knowledge, skills, and talents with their desire to make a difference and contribute to positive social change. Our programs and these web pages in particular aim to build students’ capacity for choosing and creating a lifetime of socially responsible work and living.

defining public interest work

We believe that "public interest" work and living a socially responsible life is not restricted to a particular sector, job industry, or even "a career." Indeed, various private, public and non-profit sector organizations work singularly or collaboratively with other organizations to positively impact our communities and society at large. Many individuals strive to be true to their ideals and values beyond a "job" and rather seek to answer and actualize a "calling."

There are many pathways towards creating a lifetime of socially responsible work and leading a socially responsible life. Our goal with these pages is to increase the visibility of conversations and options for meaningful work and living.
