"The complete guide to taking time out." This website has numerous and varied articles and features, advice, planning guides, forums, live diaries, resources, and job opportunities for students thinking of taking time off.

Whereyouheaded.com assists students in "researching and planning for taking time off, for the college admissions process, comprehensive college choices, and for alternative educational opportunities.

Alternative Breaks – (http://alternativebreaks.org)
Break Away: the Alternative Break Connection, Inc. is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the development of quality alternative break programs by providing training and information primarily to colleges, universities, and nonprofit organizations interested in creating lifelong active citizens through these intensive service-learning programs.

The Dynamy Internship Year – (www.dynamy.org)
The Dynamy Internship Year is in its 34th year as an urban experiential education program. Each year several dozen 17-to-22 year olds from all over the country come to Dynamy, in Worcester, MA, in search of an educational experience that takes place outside the traditional classroom.

The Center for Interim Programs – (www.interimprograms.com)
Founded in 1980, with offices in Massachusetts and New Jersey, the Center for INTERIM PROGRAMS offers individuals of all ages and backrounds the opportunity to explore different areas of interest via a personally tailored, experience-based format. Since its inception, INTERIM has designed creative "time on" for over 3,500 young people between the ages of 15 and 70, and has created an evergrowing database of over 4,000 options worldwide.
